About
I was born in L.A.’s Cedars Sinai in the summer of ’82 and spent the first part of my childhood learning the ropes in El Segundo. In ’89 our family moved to a great three bedroom, one story home in the Santa Clarita Valley that actually had a back yard and a lawn! I was lucky enough to spend the next several summers racing neighborhood kids down the street, watching The Simpsons, playing 3 Flies Up and “night swimming.”
High school was high school, I spent four years at Valencia High running track and cross country, playing soccer, going to dances, traveling on family vacations, maintaining a solid GPA (nothing fancy though, if I end up with genius kids, they got that from their father) and hanging out with some pretty awesome people.
I eventually found myself at USC majoring in American Literature. During my last year as a Trojan I shared a historic house on 29th Street with the most fun-loving female water polo players you will ever meet, I fully admit that on not one night was I able to keep up with these girls. As all good things must come to an end, I graduated and in the summer of ’04 moved to Redondo Beach.
Of course, I didn’t walk away from USC with just a bachelor’s degree in a useless major – I also met my future husband while living at Troy East (this was pre-water polo house). We were married in Palos Verdes in October of ’07 and have been collecting cats ever since (total count: 3). If you see him on this blog it will be a testament to my amazing photography skillz, as he most often hates being my model. In December of 2010 Brent and I welcomed our first-born, a baby girl we named Alexa, but answers to Lexi, B-Ron, Bron-Bron, Lexi-Bear, Lexi Luther, etc, etc. She is the center of our world and my full-time job for the foreseeable future.
As for photography, I’ve been doing this casually for as long as I can remember. Most pictures from weddings, parties or football games that I have attended show me with my Canon Powershot (SD950) hanging from my wrist. The majority of pictures used on this blog were taken with the Nikon D60 DSLR that I received for my 26th birthday. I am mostly self taught, a fact of which I am not proud – I know that any kind of formal photography class will seriously take me to a respectable level, but those cost money and take time, two preciously rare commodities.
Thank you for visiting my site, hopefully if you stick around long enough you will see some kind of discernable improvement in the photos that I share – enjoy!
